I have died on dumber hills than arguing for 1 + 1 = 5.

FiskFisk33 ,

oh my god thanks for linking that, the full body workout thread is truly painful!

FiskFisk33 ,

I went the other way. I liked the simplicity, and thought what about MORE simplicity? I went to i3 and haven't really looked back yet.

FiskFisk33 ,

that one is merely cosmetic tho, no biggie.

FiskFisk33 ,

The ports should be grounded through the motherboard. The case should be grounded through contact with the PSU.

I've heard arguments it does some EMI shielding, which is probably technically correct, but with so many cases on the market having huge glass/clear plastic panels in their sides, leaving large gaping EMI holes, that doesn't seem to matter much.

FiskFisk33 ,

Your arch system would probably have updates unless you just updated within the last few minutes. Being suprised seems a bit unnecessary.

FiskFisk33 ,

I played that game as a kid, back when some of the now bluey staff probably did the same.

FiskFisk33 ,

wait what the fuck this is actually real

FiskFisk33 ,

I'm a bad boy.
I'm a boy and am literally bad at everything :(

FiskFisk33 ,

I get what you are saying but I disagree.
Such a question comes with an implication that whoever posed the question thinks both answers are valid, unless the context implies otherwise.

Edit: No wrongthink on feddit.de, got it.

Oh come on now, people disliking your opinion is not the same thing as you being silenced, get over yourself.

FiskFisk33 ,

The downvote button is not the “I disagree” button.

Like it or not, that's how people generally use it.

FiskFisk33 ,

Nothing really. Distros have different goals. Some distros have more access to bleeding edge updates than ubuntu.

Some don't like that ubuntu forces you to use the snap store, which is proprietary, with packages that are larger and run slow and hog a lot of memory compared to other package managers (such as apt)

FiskFisk33 ,

yeah, many packages now defaults as snaps in ubuntu.
firefox being a single but prominent example, the package on apt simply installs the snap now. You can get around that but you'll have to add mozillas repository. It's Canonical's proprietary thing so I guess it makes sense.

I hate to defend mcdonalds, but a dude died 20 years after eating exclusively mcdonalds for a month.

Yeah, no.

FiskFisk33 ,

I highly doubt that chain of causation to be true. Had people paid more, the producers would still lower their cost base as much as possible, in order to maximize profits.

FiskFisk33 ,

I don't know of any country where that right was put into place by asking nicely...

FiskFisk33 , (Bearbeitet )

difference is you dont need a third party tool to change the thing, if you're unhappy with the thing, you change the thing out itself, you are not stuck with it.

FiskFisk33 ,

typically you get a dropdown at the login screen :)

FiskFisk33 ,

I think you're missing the joke, this is not for the kid...

FiskFisk33 ,

to be fair, while the microwave might be collecting your info, it isn't shaping your children.

FiskFisk33 ,

don't get me wrong, I don't mean to minimize that side, I just think there's a fair argument to be made that direct control of peoples eyeballs are potentially, comparatively, much more powerful.
