Of all video game bosses in existence, fighting game bosses are the most bullshit of them all. You typically have to find some way to cheese them to death before they do it to you.
Yeah, I get that. I do, however, really like how FireDragon comes with a lot of the extension I'd like to use, and with searx as the default web search. It also takes almost no time to switch to a much better KDE layout as opposed to the seemingly script kiddie dr4a6onized default.
Very fair. I'm a far cry from an advanced user - I know just enough to be dangerous to myself, and didn't see that. As I said in another comment, though, I do like that the default browser is somewhat hardened and uses a decent searx instance as the default search. It does seem to be marketed towards teenagers, though, unfortunately.
I didn't want to do any of that crap either, which is why I installed Garuda. I love the workflow of ocean and may, but have no interest in spending an entire day installing an OS. It has been really good to me.
The real question is: How in the world did Ventrillo continue to exist after TeamSpeak came along?
Vent was an object lesson in hostile UX. It sounded like shit, changing any kind of setting (even basic things like individual volumes) was a a gymnastics routine, and mics constantly clipped despite settings.
I unironically want to see this happen, mostly because it would be an incredible feat. Not only because of the language and compiler restrictions, but the only way that you could take a break would be to play a few games that aren't very fleshed out or "Listen to God."
I need to be dead honest here. This is Lemmy. If it isn't there, make it. I get not wanting to moderate etc. but if you want that thing to happen you're going to have to make it and you're going to have to post as often as you can. Do I want to mod a community? Not at all, but I've made two and I post to both as often as I can when the opportunity strikes.
The whole "this niche thing doesn't exist so I'm not enjoying Lemmy" argument falls flat for me. Just take the leap and keep going at the pace you can. Even if it is slow, it's something and people may migrate and enjoy the content. Ignore downvotes, they don't really matter here. Just post stuff, even if it is irregular.
