every time I need to design a PCB I'm like "this'll be quick and easy, I won't need to design any footprints or symbols at all!"

and then an hour later I'm staring into the Kicad footprint editor and crying

@foone Everyone has his/her Achille's heel .. mine is PCB routing as well .. I can put complex schematics/do simulations in relatively short time .. but then comes the layout problem .. here "my brain kind shuts down" and I start crying after I routed some tracks. Normally I get 80% done then I get stuck with "impossible routing" and I start crying .. 😢

Idea: a USB-controlled gun, but the USB protocol implementation is the most cursed part.
Any ideas? I have a better one, but I'll start with that it's a USB printer class. Every time you tell it to print a page, it fires

oh sweet jesus. I found some raspi-based GPS/RFID devices at ewaste, right? and they had a mini-PCIe WLAN card, complete with SIM card in it.

The SIM card is still active.

I wonder how well your average computer motherboard would handle being in a pressurized air environment.
Like your sea level pressure is like 14 PSI, and inside a car tire is like 30 PSI.
I wonder if any components would fail at the latter pressure?

As a SCUBA diver, 30 PSI is about 33 feet deep (.4545PSI/foot) + 14.7

Almost anything operates at that pressure (except a full pizza box, don't ask... :-) )

@foone a spinning rust hdd is hermetically sealed AFAIR and pressure difference might affect it mechanically. Maybe some other mechanical parts (fans, optical drives) would be affected by different air density?
