Sailed to here a few times whilst I was in Army in the 80's. We'd sail out of the British Army Sailing Club at Kiel and potter about up and down the coast of Denmark. Damp, Flensburg, Sønderborg and once overt to Søby and then Ærøskøbing. Some of the best times I had in the army were sailing in the Baltic.

We should have gone full metric and adopted the Euro years ago. Then all this bollocks about pints and good old sterling would have been done with.

But who will slap them down for it? We'll just carry on trading (directly or indirectly) and wring our hands. Russia will only take notice of strength. Every thing else is 'weak capitalist fools' and whatever the KGB (they may have a new name but nothing has changed) decide is best for Russia. We need to stand up to them.

They are limbering up - this has been coming for some years but the west will sleepwalk into it. We should have distanced ourselves them years ago instead of sucking up to them for cheap oil and gas.
