Ich kenne auf Reddit einen Regionalbahn-Lokführer (Dieseltriebwagen R. 814 in Bezirk Olomouc). Leider spricht er nicht Deutsch (aber ziemlich gut Englisch) und hat kein Lemmy-Konto; ich kann ihm aber Fragen stellen, die ihnen anfallen.

(Dieser Stoff wurde noch im Jahr 2018 in Tschechien unter Name Uragan D2 hergestellt! Wir Tschechen haben viel mehr Toleranz zum schwarzen Humor inkl. Nazismus-bezugte Themen.)

Er tötet alle Tiere, also wird er gegen Insekten und Nagetiere bei Landwirdschaft und Sanierung verwendet. Es gibt aber andere Giftstoffe, die solche grausame Geschichte nicht tragen (die sind für Menschen aber meistens ähnlich so giftig, es geht meistens um die Konnotazionen); keine Ahnung, wie es dazu gekommen ist, dass er so neulich ersetzt wurde. Ich bin froh, kein Neonazi (soviel ich weiß) dieses Produkt besorgt und für Ritualmord verwendet hat.

I had a blast playing the Czech-localized version of Bioscopia until the CD got scratched and it started crashing. I was terrible at gaming (still am but can look up guides now) so I never got past the starting area and reception. Still, the interactive encyclopedia kept working and I went through most of it. I recently pirated a working English-language copy (developed by Tivola together with the German one, I think) and had a blast. It would still crash at later points but I was able to hack the required items in through the plaintext XML save file, as well as 99 credit on the keycard (not as interested in biology anymore) and finish the game.

I think they do make some kind of edutainment but not like this. Point-and-click adventures were relatively easy to integrate some education into but the kid needs the time and patience to find a solution when they inevitably get stuck (perhaps with hints but not walkthroughs). Their attention span is too short nowadays because content comes more often than on 1 CD-ROM per month for the delayed gratification of exploration and puzzle-solving to work.

Some people have diacritics and spaces in their usernames, which wreaks havoc for badly written programs accessing AppData or folders in the user's "home" directory, such as Documents. And there are lots of such programs.

When setting up Windows, use a short and memorable, DOS-compatible username, and then change it later (the home folder will still have the old name). You can then move indiidual Libraries (Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures and Videos) to the root of D:\ too.

Nah, likely just incorrectly declared and the importer failed to respond to a tax evasion fine. The Czech Republic is pretty lax when it comes to regulating such things (heck, even this was allowed). They could be legalized without a CE certificate, just some paper work.
