Telling children they are living in a dying world is an essential evil we don’t really have terminology for. Children cannot fix your sins through shame and abortion of hope. You are the villain in their story, not their savior - peddling nothing actualizing change, only dred.

>realize ur not japanese and you entire view of that culture is from adaptation of mediating minds not literal transcription
>find out japanese has fundamentally different sentence structure that does not work in english
>realize every japanese cultural product is essentially rewritten
>you’re living a lie
>you have never tasted the sweetest nectar, only an imitation in your inferior pidgin language
>you must learn japanese

Anyway, that’s how that happens.

How your views on programmers progress in InfoSec

1.) Developers should know better
2.) Developers are users too
3.) They are paid to much to be absolved of sin

One of the biggest security expertise redpills is this is unironically a good idea and the time spent making fun of it was ill-advised for most users whose physical security threat is not a factor in comparison.

SwiftOnSecurity OP ,
@SwiftOnSecurity@infosec.exchange avatar

Overcoming the incentive to dunk on “users” behavior is an important element in maturing your security understanding. You have a set of levers to pull. Human nature is not one of them. Deal with that or be a righteous failure.

SwiftOnSecurity OP ,
@SwiftOnSecurity@infosec.exchange avatar

Edginess and denigration is not a measure of effectiveness when your subjects’ success is the criteria. I fear some see Security as a way to be a veto of correctness – rather than a mediator of implementing a solution. The former easy, the latter a lifetime of work.

There are practical and political arguments against replacing Biden on the general election ticket. There are also practical and political arguments for doing so.

However, it is not the case that it is LEGALLY "too late" to change the ticket. The nominating conventions for major parties are held before every state's ballot deadline. Here's a summary of each state's laws, from the National Association of Secretaries of State (the people who run the elections).

Good find by Elastic - possibly North Korean based threat actors using an unfixed bug in Windows to execute code, undetected across all vendors until that point (and as of writing only Elastic detect still)

They’ve named it GrimResource https://www.elastic.co/security-labs/grimresource

We are seeing an issue in Chrome/Edge browsers where WebRTC audio is silently dropping during a Group Policy refresh. This has been ongoing but recently ramped up as a big policy deployment has rolled out. If anyone has seen this or has narrowed it down let me know.

Hello everyone. I've been a somewhat outspoken proponent of Fastly, and for good reason. They've been incredibly helpful and generous with hosting Infosec.Exchange. Moving Infosec.Exchange behind Fastly about a year ago was the single biggest improvement I've been able to bring to the Infosec.Exchange community in its more than 7 years of existence. No, I don't get paid by them to say this (or for any other reason), we just a good deal through their Fast Forward program on their services.

Today, Fastly asked me to help announce their new free tier developer accounts, which has been an oft-requested feature of them. You can find info on that free tier here: http://fastly.com/pricing and the announcement is here: http://fastly.com/instant

I don't generally like to plug things, but I have to tell you that I've been incredibly impressed by Fastly's service and their people. If you're a developer looking for CDN services, or otherwise in the market for CDN services give Fastly a look.
