oh sweet jesus. I found some raspi-based GPS/RFID devices at ewaste, right? and they had a mini-PCIe WLAN card, complete with SIM card in it.

The SIM card is still active.

It's probably on some mega corporate account, and just fell off the radar from bad inventory management/bad decommissioning process.

I mean, when you're some megacorp, your AT&T bill is at least tens of millions per year, and probably split across hundreds of cost centers. It's real easy for stuff to slip through the cracks, especially if they're not seeing big data usage. They might even have a contract where the per-active sim cost is very small and they pretty much only pay for the data usage. That's mean a sim in an ewaste bin doesn't even show up on reports.

I just tried to order a pizza and it wanted my credit card expiration date, so I entered "05/28" (example date only)

it then came back with a "your card is expired" error. Uh, no it isn't? that date is still several years in the future.

did... did this site just take my date and assume I mean May of the year AD 28? That is indeed very expired! that's what I get for trying to use Jesus's card.
