The only cyborg I've seen get it right is Inspector Gadget.

Because I can probably name ten people right now who would go for the "motorized screwdriver in the finger" surgery, yet it so rarely shows up in fiction.

But that's the transhumanist future I'm waiting for

@foone I made a fair number of manually taped boards, but I never did the photoresist.

I barely remember laying down the tape though, so I can't even comment if it was hard or not. I feel it must have felt pretty trivial. But damned if I remember how I got the traces in the right places. I DO remember floating the boards in the acid bath and what happened if you left them too long. ;)

@foone I haven't met him, but I was 10 feet away from him. It was my first day as a contractor at the Gigafactory in California, and I wasn't comfortable that I'd be able to answer any questions if he asked, so I stayed out of the way so as not to get my boss in trouble. He was getting a show of all the various stages of the battery in production.

It was an interesting job, though I didn't stay long. It was neat working on Beckhoff equipment in a factory environment instead of animatronics like I was used to, and learning the various stages of production was neat.
