oh sweet jesus. I found some raspi-based GPS/RFID devices at ewaste, right? and they had a mini-PCIe WLAN card, complete with SIM card in it.

The SIM card is still active.

@foone Some people are to stupid about informational hygiene for their own good. You could send them a text telling them how stupid they are or use the card until the account gets closed to perform some mild hijinx. Something like putting it into a burner and donating it to a homeless shelter. Who knows what calls to Nicaragua or Guatemala or Hyerbad would exhaust the card.

I only wish it was as easy to return all the dog turds that errant dog owners leave on sidewalks and lawns back into their own living rooms.

@arstechnica THE END OF OCTOBER, a novel about a pandemic with a 30% mortality came out in April 2020. It was not only very good but somewhat prescient. It predicted an influenza epidemic that would kill many people.

@arstechnica Have the Roku streaming puck with no banking info in my account. Still, it took a couple days of attempting to login to my.roku.com because the Cloudflare front-end didn't work with Brave/Chrome, Opera, or Firefox. Getting their support people to take a bug report was a waste of time. They really need to use my mother's black whip on Cloudflare to fix their anti-bot front end.
