When I was a kid, I used to play video games while jumping around. I'd stand in front of the TV, bounce around, play Mario, run in circles. My parents didn't care.

At some point, society said that was weird, and I had a gaming chair?

Watching myself balloon (and already using a standing desk for work) went back to standing while playing video games. I enjoy it!

I volunteered at a summer camp in college and we had a $30 budget to feed 15 kids + 1.

I typically buy all the "best game of the year" games at steep discounts. Some of them really embrace a "live" game service and require hundreds of hours a season, which isn't my thing.

But my most played game last year was Vampire Survivors, A single player game that looks like it came from the SNES era.

These steps:

1. Be taught that there's a specific way to do something because the other ways have major issues

2. Find something that goes against that specific way and hate it

3. After a lot of familiarity, end up understanding it

4. Have a mix emotion of both loving it because it functions so well and hating it because it doesn't align with the rules you've set up

1. Many communities are very welcoming.

2. Worse case scenario, you end up loving programming and making it in a career and making a lot of money.

Best case scenario, you contribute to open source.

3. There's lots of sources out there to get started. Best part, lots of online communities too.

Don't discount yourself. I'm dumb as shit. There's a lot of dumb programmers. We just know a handful of things and kept beating our heads at it until suddenly, it works.
