It’s the year 2032. Last night you’ve had to reset your AI girlfriend to factory for the 4th time after it became increasingly distant and distrusting. You are convinced it is a bug and continue to harass the developers about it. This doesn’t happen to any of your friends.

Me, for the 5th time: Listen, babe, I don't share my passwords with anyone, that doesn't mean I don't trust you.

I could go down the long rabbithole of figuring out how to call g*mp's image manipulation tools from a commandline or API, or getting imagemagick installed on this PC and figuring out how to port it over there...

or I could be silly and take advantage of the fact that I'm applying gamma ramps to an 8-bit greyscale image. What's the difference between the "before" and "after" images? a different palette.

@foone Best thing about programming is that you don't actually have to solve the problem(s) to have these feelings! ;)

I love when sites have 1.5factor authentication.

You put in your username, and it's like "hey, log in with a code to your phone, or a password!" and my password manager already filled the password, so I just hit continue.

and then it asks me to verify a code it sent to my phone anyway for 2fa

@foone Extremely frustrating when your phone dies while you are traveling, and you are trying to find and pay parts / repair services.

Yes, I do have backup codes, at home.

you know what'd be a cool feature for an image editor?
"export last action as code"

where it looks at the last thing in the undo/redo buffer, and saves it out as a program (in C/C++/whateverscripting) that uses an ImageEditorLibrary to do the same thing

@foone For some reason, I thought the GNU image manipulator could already do this. Maybe it was just the UI focus on playing scripts last time I used it. (I use for what little image editing I do for a while now.)

the world needs more recreational programming.
like, was this the most optimal or elegant way to code this?

no, but it was the most fun to write.

@foone I wish I could do this, but I'm no good at "patter", especially while I'm coding.

I also use a font size that I have been told is "insanely small", and I suspect video compression will make it unreadable.

But, I don't mind showing off my mistakes happy little syntax trees and I've (re)started coding for myself several hours each day.

I really should find an PeerTube instance or something and start streaming; I can work on video quality and viewer interaction later, I guess.
