As an actuarie this meme is kinda true but mostly false. I had classes on some advanced maths like ordinary differential equations that have never use on my day to day job. But, the actuarial sciences math in collage was elementary school level of abstraction compared with the real world. There's still a lot of excel tho, but I'm cool and use python (pandas) wherever I can.

Disagree. ODF was one of the best subjects I took, and even if I haven't used it, I could be working on quant where is used regularly. And the same can be said for any other subject.

By "directly to destination" did you mean the gigantic parking lot necessary to accommodate every car? You are going to walk anyway, the different is that you're walking in the most horrible hostile car centric space instead of one made for humans.

Public transit that share lines with cars are always going to be worst that cars, but if you add exclusive lanes for Public transit they go smooth as hell. This is why metros are usually the best option on cities with good metro infrastructure.

Trains are the crabs of transportation.

Given that we're talking about cities, your experience living in the forest is completely irrelevant.

And car-centric city design is causing a lot of pain right now and destroying the planet.

As my wife put it, if the bear kill me, nobody would ask how I was dressed.

My wife shared me a meme from that image and I asked her if she knew its origin. Let me tell you, she got really sand and guilty about it.

The pick-axe is a "motivational" meme about don't giving up, because the diamonds could be just around.

I bike everyday to work, and everytime someone ask me "what about the rain" I answer "I know I'm sweet, but fortunately, I'm not made of sugar" it's gets a rolleyes or a laugh, 50/50.

The last panel could said "I guess I'm living in the streets" and the pig calling the police because there's a homeless close their property.

The 8th one, with the lady crying, is definitely wrong. It was a first-world problems, something people wirh comfy lives would complain that are not a real problem.
