"Keep politics out of FOSS" is an interesting political statement

@karolherbst @TheEvilSkeleton yeah its the no politics browser, when you open it it closes itself because its existence is inherently political

To speak for marginalized groups is just and important.

However we have to remind ourselves to never make them compete who is the most marginalized group.

No "but this group has it worse, therefore your group is just less important" or other similar nonsense.

We need to work on fixing all those issues at the same time together.

And for that we need to stop to generalize or take one bad actor as the reason on why an entire group of people is bad.

@karolherbst people using marginalized groups as "weapon" to get their way is also just disgusting.

Popular opinion seems to be that #GNOME and #KDE are "fighting/competing."

Sure we have our differences in philosophies and design, but it's way more akin to siblings having small spats. But in the end we are siblings in #FOSS family and I like GNOME folks a lot. And if anyone attacks my siblings, I'm there to defend them.

We can and we should work together as much as possible, not just GNOME or KDE but all other DE's too like #Budgie and #XFCE to be the best computing experience possible.

It's not perfect and it's never gonna be because perfection is unattainable, but perfect is also enemy of good.

Let's keep doing our best. Together.

Ragebait posters be like

  1. make angry posts and boost angry stuff
  2. gain followers easily because negativity is easy way to get followers
  3. sell your stuff in middle of it with those random positive posts
  4. virtue signal, a lot. people who are negative all the time love this because it makes them feel a bit more important/better
  5. if something isn't like you want it to be, direct the hatred of your followers towards it
  6. don't actually follow what you preach, ignore the minorities you so signal for. you're here for the power and fame after all.

Block these people if you see them. Do not interact with them.

You see bunch of volunteers outside, picking up trash and cleaning up places. However, one spot is missed.

Do you:

  1. say nicely that they missed a spot?
  2. help them clean it?
  3. or go rant at them how they all suck at their job?

In sadly many people choose option 3.

edit:

Theres always hidden 4th option where you just ignore the problem (and I don't think thats a bad thing necessarily, we all have limited amount of spoons). I rather have people ignore and walk by sometimes than just scream.
