A stat I found interesting is that meat consumption / person is falling steadily in Germany, down 15% in the last 5 years while the meat replacement industry is booming. Sadly much of the rest of the world is going in the opposite direction.

Growing up is realizing that in US TV shows the only people taking a bus are kids running away from home or people coming out of jail.

It really is wild how far the US is behind the rest of the world when it comes to public transit.

Outside of NYC, Canadian cities have significantly more per-capita transit ridership than US cities ... and transit isn't even that great in Canada.
