Yeah. Nobody’s ever done real communism on a national scale. As in, not just being a dictatorship in charge of everything that funnels money and power to the top while giving communism lip service and the people get screwed.
The point is the idiocracy exists and it’s so bad that the best they can do is elect someone who is, at best, average. That’s the joke. Yeah, the decision to put someone in charge who is smarter than the rest of them is admirable and pokes at our own politicians, but nonetheless the idiocracy exists.
G'kar and Londo absolutely made B5. The most interesting character arcs, probably the most fleshed-out characters, and Katsulas and Jurasic stole the show with their acting. All the hardships G'kar suffered and the philosophical outlook he kept despite the anger he had to deal with, Londo's moments of self-awareness, yet he remained trapped by culture and politics... Their interaction and introspection on screen was something I always looked forward to. I need to go watch that series again.
Edit: Just started watching the series again. I don't know why I didn't remember, but the writers really started off painting the Narn as the plotting and scheming baddies. Funny how that changed over the course of the series.
One thing I’ve learned on reddit is that you never tell people on platforms like that or even this one that you’re a landlord. You could be the best landlord, never raise a reasonable rent, keep a well and promptly maintained property, and LanDlOrDs aRe The ScUm of ThE Earth!!1! is all you hear.
