Any idea why more % people die on bicycles in NL compared to Germany?
I always thought its the other way around. Especially for bikes! As the Dutch infrastructure feels much safer and easier to use. Is this all down to helmets?
The share of people riding their bike is almost double in NL compared to DE. Yet there are 2x, 3x as many cyclist dying in NL compared to Germany....
Just googled the numbers. People aged 55+ cycling more than once per week is twice as high in NL compared to DE.

Yea true, the independence and health benefits are quite remarkable. I just remembered there was a study done in Utrecht looking exactly at this.
