(new pinned, boosts appreciated) hi my name is BBQ! I'm a weird gay nerd that collects and restores/shoots with antique cameras! I have a background in computer repair and programming, I love to use weird loopholes to shoot on cameras that other people would disregard and unusable in the modern age, follow me if you like antique technology, photography, or computers! :3 posts are sometimes NSFW so minors DNI!

A 1910s folding style camera, it has a worn leather exterior but is in otherwise good condition

I've always wondered why film labs charge more for higher resolution scans, I just got a scanner and I'm finally getting my answer as I watch the progress slider slowly inch across my screen

@BBQDeveloper I've been recently doing scans on microfiche and it's like taking 16 separate gigapixel images for a single page. it's SO SLOW AND FINICKY

me and my dad have been talking about our two hobbies and we've concluded that we should strap one of my film cameras to one of his drones and wire a servo to the receiver to trigger it and take an aerial shot

@BBQDeveloper that sounds like it'd be really awesome AND really likely to smash an antique camera. hopefully it's mostly the former
