On my flight home, and I have written a somewhat emotional blog post about my time at EMF and how it recharges me in a way almost nothing else does: "An Electromagnetic Force" https://aeracode.org/2024/06/05/emf-2024/
EMF is a giant team effort, but I'd like to thank some individuals:
Foremost @jellysnakes, my second on the Arts team, without whom I would have had a breakdown, and @oliverchild for carrying the load at Null Sector.
@joenash and @CatherineFlick for making the arcade awesome and saving me from feeling really stupid about the idea 😂, and @mrpjevans for doing the same with the video container.
Finally, @jonty for trusting me and being a lovely person and friend.
In peak #emf2024 style had a message from @mattgrayyes about a box left for me at logistics tent. It is obviously box full of "shrilling chickens" feel free to come get this most random freebie off me at the null sector night market this evening! We might even be able to fettle em onto a #hexpansion#emf
87 out of 88 and second place on the leaderboard. As the sun is setting, I guess that's it. The gchq.net game took me places I otherwise wouldn't have discovered. Would definitely play again, this was great fun. :) #emfcamp#emf2024
Ok. Moar pictures of contraptions!
James Bruton ( @XRobotsUK ) brought a... thing. It's a three-wheeled tentacle robot. Absurd and amazing!
A lot of vehicles, some of them competing in the hacky racers series!
A tracked trike which worked really well on the grass and dirt.
And someone had a real fighting robot with them! #emf2024#emfcamp
By the way... The second picture shows Matt Denton on his Lego-inspired motorbike. He finished it on site and also made a video about the first part. And cought me while I was admiring the tentacle thing from the first picture. :D https://youtu.be/rAm-lMeZ-uE #emf2024#emfcamp
