@foone looks like it is for more than 3KV. i've seen similar probes used on particle accelerators in the 0.5MeV range. (you're not supposed to be holding them during use.)

@foone Looks like a regular Fluke 187 multimeter, which can handle 1000V at the terminals. That white line below the rotary switch isn’t standard though.

My guess is that the high voltage probes have a voltage divider built in.

@foone I'd go up an order of magnitude at least, you wouldn't need it that big for 3k. The little TV repair sized hv probes you probably saw around in various places are made for like 30
