I'm not familiar with 3BP's design process for the Droplet, but Aptera's design is 100% based on aerodynamics. Aptera's engineering team is amazing and as long as it made sense regarding wind resistance, it was selected. The trunk can become a tent with the Aptera too, pretty ingenious.

This seems like as good a thread as any to make my first post in as a Lemmy user. I've been on Reddit since '09, and was on slashdot back in the 90's. I really am hoping that these new, federated services take off. Onboarding still seems like the biggest hurdle.

I just checked and my account on lemmy is 3 years old, I was waiting for all of you. At moments lemmy looked like it will take of by it self, but last few months was pretty quiet. I hope this is the push this community needs to succeed.

Reddit got too big for my taste since digg joined in, I don't think this will kill it ( they have the data how many people is using it outiside official apps), but let's make space out of it.

I'm a vegetarian.

I was, and still am, surprised by how often people will go into a long rant justifying why they eat meat to me as soon as they find out I'm vegetarian. All the while I'm just sat there, not saying anything, because I literally do not care whether or not they eat meat.

Me being a vegetarian is a personal choice for me and myself only. You do you. I don't care. You don't need to explain yourself to me. It makes me feel so awkward.

People will often ask me why I'm a vegetarian too. But it feels like a very personal and heavy question to ask someone immediately after finding out they're vegetarian... I don't especially want to talk about animals dying all the time and how it makes me sad especially to strangers.

Edit/Addition:
It feels like a lot of focus is brought on how vegetarians/vegans force their views onto other people but my experience personally is non-vegetarians/vegans trying to force me into conversations about this topic.
