Why does nobody just use a basic Gentoo setup? Compiling custom kernels and using tons of use flags And cflags isn't actually going to make your PC faster. Just install the distribution kernel and use march=native.

it's honestly quite strange. The Libreboot term has been known for years to refer to the fully free bios project. Then they merged osboot and Libreboot so now libreboot contains proprietary blobs. Then they decided to make a new project canoeboot, which is basically the new libreboot.

so they went from having:

  • osboot
  • libreboot

to having:

  • canoeboot
  • libreboot

All they seemed to have done is confuse.

No, I just mainly don't understand what the whole AI freakout is about. If some companies want to use random redditors shitposts to train an ai, I don't know why anyone would care.

Indeed. I literally never use the word "than". Fuck grammar, "than" looks weird.

I never say "than", I say "then", therefore it just seems right to spell it how I always say it.

I moved to Linux because of free software. Not necessarily of hate for Windows

I truly love Debian. As long as you get the right ISO (live with non-free firmware included), it's perfect for beginners. Calamares installer and good hardware support.

I generally recommend Kubuntu for new users though.

I actually installed Gentoo last night. Surprised it even booted and I got KDE installed and running. Glad though after 6 hours
