It's always funny when liberals come from Reddit because the profit motive slowly ruined everything that once made Reddit fun and disruptive, but then absolutelty mald about Marxists and other leftists once they get here, the explicitly leftist answer to Reddit.

It's especially bad on !Lemmy.world, where the majority of users are too idealistic to stay on Reddit but not well-versed enough in leftist theory or practice to actually engage with most of Lemmy.

It's even goofier when these same liberals think they are leftists, but then still get upset at Marxists, and even Anarchists.

Same here. It's always Lemmy.world and their echo chamber. They are especially idealistic liberals, they can't stay on Reddit but they also can't stand leftists, everything is vibes and nothing is material.

They, right now, are comparing Marxists to Evangelical Christians and are circlejerking about it, lol.

They craft an image of Marx in their heads because they agree that Capitalism has issues, otherwise they would be on Reddit, but never actually read Marx. That's the crux of these liberals complaining about Marxists and Anarchists.

The crux of the argument is that both Marxism and Christianity see problems in the world, and both Marxists and Christians see a future event "fixing" these problems, and finally that people who don't agree with these takes are uneducated, equating immaterial religious fervor with historical materialism and class struggle.

BG3 is large-scale. It's a AAA game.

Larian has a massive team and tons of money for BG3. It's insulting to indies and to BG3 to pretend BG3 is anything other than the product of hundreds of hardworking team members.

I enjoy many indies more than I've enjoyed BG3 so far, but that speaks more to the fact that production scale and enjoyment do not scale linearly. BG3 remains a behemoth of a project, however.

Methods? No. The far-right relies on terror, fear, and explicit power structures such as a police state to maintain power. Leftists oppose such structures, even on the ultra-left.

Objectives? Absolutely not. Right-wingers seek to maintain Capitalism, the far-right seeks to implement fascism as a reactionary protection of Capitalist hierarchy, complete with racial and gender hierarchy. The extreme left, ie Anarchists and Communists, seek a Stateless, Classless, Moneyless society based on horizontal power structures. Completely different.

Goals? Same as objectives.

Horseshoe theory is absolute nonsense, and is used to protect the status quo even if the status quo must be radically changed.

Capitalism does this to itself due to the profit motive. Where once is innovation and brand new disruption becomes petty iteration as this new frontier slowly but surely becomes a well-oiled profit machine. The upside is that FOSS makes replacing this profit-generating soul-sucking bloatware with better alternatives very easy.

Replacing the existing infrastructure of Capitalism by building up parallel structures is a valid means of weakening Capital itself.
