You ever have one of those days where you discover that work's u-matic deck is dead, and you're gonna have to lug yours out of storage just to play a u-matic tape?
@foone my dad acquired dozens of empty u-matic cases back in the 90s, and didn't know what to do with them until we worked out that they were a perfect fit for [a small number I forget exactly how many] CD jewel cases. It all still ended up in landfill of course, but a few years later than might have originally.
What made me think I'm the only one around here who has their own U-Matic? I kinda wish mine could record too though, I'd put video through it for aesthetic degradation

Back To The Future was released in 1985. In it, the protagonists travel 30 back in time to 1955. The modern-day comparison would be someone traveling from 2024 to 1994. #justsaying
