has anyone seen a system for reporting issues with open source projects where:

  1. anyone is allowed to report issues with the wrong terminology, which can't be reproduced, without the necessary information, basically doing everything "wrong" for bug reporting
  2. there's no expectation that you'll get help when reporting an issue, or get any answer at all
  3. every so often the maintainers look for themes in the chaos and try to identify things to improve

@b0rk sounds more like telemetry than issue trackers (or town halls tbh)

my experience on the maintainer side is being immediately and profoundly overwhelmed, but perhaps funding and/or additional support could have fixed this.

@fasterthanlime @b0rk yeah, this sounds right, more like a telemetry/feedback system than an issue tracker, most open source projects can't afford to run telemetry and see it as a privacy violation so there are few projects that get this kind of information. mozilla crash reporter, abrt into redhat bugzilla, maybe fwupd where you could identify enough bulk of issues to be able to sort and prioritize them, otherwise you'll just get a random smattering of complaints, with no idea how prevalant
