@arstechnica My first EV will probably be a BYD. No Apple CarPlay = no purchase. Oh, and there’s the whole Elon thing too…

@arstechnica yes. As was outlined well in the book Breaking Twitter Musk went from surrounding himself with best and brightest to yes men/women. Where engineering leads Musk companies still very good but where ego and delusion lead not so much. Think Howard Hughes. He went from using first principles to random ideas. Cyber truck good example. Lots of great real engineering with an idiotic body tacked on top which, much like Apple products, forces engineering to take back seat to design.
