@arstechnica The @EUCommission is funny. First let them grow and do all sorts of M&A and then put on the surprised Pikachu face and fine them for peanuts that they will make back in a couple of months. Not surprising seeing how much money Microsoft spends lobbying the European institutions and how dependent European governments are on them.

@arstechnica It doesn't matter. Even if there's a "huge fine" it'll be years in the future and damage to the market and anybody trying to compete with Microsoft will already have been done. You can trust Microsoft has already done this math and the fine is worth what they'll get for it or they wouldn't have done it in the first place.
