I'm gonna be trying something different out tomorrow. Something between a re-do and a re-run.
It's a new shoot using almost entirely old B-roll and a significant re-work of the script. Basically, I wanted to combine the two dishwasher videos into one sub-half-hour video focused more on "tips and tricks" and less on my opinions on detergent (though you bet it still contains opinions on detergent!).
@TechConnectify Thanks! I hadn't seen either of the previous videos, and given their run-times, I might not have. This was great, and I'm already doing most of the tips, but I'm already looking forward to the hot-water trick.

Your dishwasher videos were so good. I will be able to point to the shorter one for my friends less deep into the stuff. I would love a shorter combined video of the pinball videos in a couple of years to point to those friends too.

My (city) water is about 350ppm, tried power gel and pods with no help. I make my own detergent now ( mostly Citrix acid thanks to how well lemishine performed compared to other detergent)
But still sometimes my dishes will leave the dishwasher dirtier than when I put them in
Give me all the tips and tricks. I can't afford a new dishwasher 😅

@TechConnectify Thanks for talking before about using less soap and putting some in the pre-rinse. The box of soap last longer, and the dishes are definitely clean.
@TechConnectify@sudo_whoami Weirdly enough, the Cascade powder somehow seems inferior to the Great Value powder and I don’t know why. I will be sad if they change whoever is making it and it’s no longer good.
@TechConnectify@sudo_whoami I was unsuccessful in getting my husband to transition to the powder. He still thinks it's 'too messy', BUT he did concede to using the gel instead of pods! :blobhaj_reach:
I don't like that there's still plastic waste, but it's a step in the right direction.
@IzzyOmega@sudo_whoami This is a brain thing I cannot understand. It's soap! Who cares if you spill a little on the door of the dishwasher. It's all just going in there anyway!
@TechConnectify@IzzyOmega@sudo_whoami mine has a "prerinse" section that literally has a hole in the bottom of it. Close the powder lid, then as you lift up the dishwasher door to close it, you can see it just falling out. That section's very existence is mere placebo meant to trick this brain thing!
@jimcullen@IzzyOmega@sudo_whoami Either you didn't watch the original dishwasher vids or you might be talking from an angle I'm not picking up on but that's not placebo at all!
That's the pre-wash section which is designed to do just that. Let some detergent in on the first fill, then let more detergent in on the second fill when the dispenser door pops open.
@TechConnectify@IzzyOmega@sudo_whoami sorry what I mean is that the fact that that section exists is placebo for people who don't like the idea of it "spilling". It would be just as effective to say "pour some directly into the dishwasher", but instead they give you a section that doesn't even hold it for the few seconds between closing the lid and turning it on (because it's not a separate door that opens at the start of the prerinse cycle, it's just got a hole). 1/2
