I'm feeling more justified in my concerns now. The steam client showing a lack of network connecting interrupting my downloads.

TechTangents OP , vor 2 Monaten Englisch @foone Even when they have steamworks DRM I've had fairly good luck in running games that are downloaded already without internet. I may have...alternative...goals in having a local copy of my games as well though.
