Here's an interesting "keyboard" for sale on aliexpress: It's a deconstructed keyboard matrix!
You can just plug in arcade buttons or whatever to each pair of pins.

They also make a version designed for plugging in connectors, but the most hilarious part is that they laid out the board to mimic the keyboard layout!

@glyph yeah, probably because this is aimed at letting you easily build an arcade machine out of a PC. So you'd wire WASD to a joystick

turns out that project was shut down for quite a while, but in 2024 it's back as croquet.io, PaaS vendor for the metaverse. siiiiiigh.

apparently for a brief period the tech was rebranded as "Immersive Terf®" and hoo boy is that ever a cursed marketing PDF now. they've since cancelled that trademark.

@thetrakynia my roommate has a Hostage Negotiation Phone. It's crime-related in that it's designed for cops to use, but in cases of needing to negotiate with hostage-takers. They'd toss this in and let the criminals talk to the negotiator. So it looks sick as hell.

Steam just went down while I'm still downloading everything from them. I'm feeling more justified in my concerns now.

Ok, has anyone made a program that will eat up a customizable chunk of conventional memory in DOS? I would like that for testing purposes, so I don't have to dick around with loading every driver & tsr I can think of, and save myself some time.

I've not sold my minecraft account and part of why is that this has been happening for YEARS and there is no reason to believe they'd stop after I sold it.
They're already going all private-investigator on me to figure out my email and phone number from just my minecraft account name, that name would still be "foone" even if I sold it!
