I'm explaining to Amazon support that they have 3 mailing addresses: the company address (wrong, I need them to change it), the billing address (wrong, I COULD change it if my payment method appeared on the relevant page), and the delivery address (right)

Am on the go, left some work at home, remembered that 1) my home computer is on tailscale, 2) git can pull over SSH

(I would've pushed from an SSH session, but agent forwarding is broken in some way I can't debug)

@fasterthanlime i thought this was the easiest to remember, back when “true colour” was a new thing, everywhere the “16 million colours!” was mentioned. And because the RGB components are 8bit each, it is 2^(8+8+8), so 2^24.

Once in school teacher had a silly task, calculate how many cells in excel spreadsheet. I was late, so wasn’t at a computer. Heard it was 256 by 65536, so 2^8 by 2^16, I could calculate it in my head, and rattle off the one big pow2 I knew, before others :)

@fasterthanlime Can Whisper handle slightly non-standard words in languages other than English? iOS‘ dictation is barely usable for me, and my German isn’t even that heavy on dialect.

@mario I’m not sure I only used it once to see if it would work for that. It’s pretty good at generating comments, tests, and porting from one structure or language to another.

@rakoo Although some linters in that collection are noisy and opinionated, many of them find real world problems before runtime. Try them on your projects and see if it finds some bugs!

Because go vet is extremely conservative by default, and will continue to be so because "only for guaranteed flaws" is the modus operandi, and doesn't get very many checks even if you include the opt-in stuff.

golangci-lint is a collection of both go vet and the most popular linters by the rest of the ecosystem.
