Democrat. Cooking, carbs, and lots of walking to work it off.

If you’re using profanity, I’m probably not going to boost or favorite even if you’re spot-on.

“Corporate rip-off:” White House slams Big Pharma’s drug price reform attacks

PhRMA claims price negotiations raise costs and that drug patents lower them.

@arstechnica Drug patents lower costs for consumers? Is it opposite day or something? Some one actually said this with a straight face.

@arstechnica I've got one, it’s light years ahead of the Tesla I ditched for it. It’s still far from perfect, but a very nice ride. Bummer it’s not NACS, but Tesla is on the way out anyway. Elon is gonna kill it. I’m not sure that’s the way to go anymore.

Since it’s built on the 4-series platform it’s very close to a 3-series.

@arstechnica Aggressively intentional stupidity is on display with these idiots. If only they could be refused medical care outside of google and homeopathy when they inevitably get violently ill. But no, they’ll go to the hospital ER and the rest of us will pay the bill.

I’m all for individual freedom. Go for it. Just be ready for the individual consequences.

A crushing backlash to Apple’s new iPad ad

Hydraulic press destroying "symbols of creativity" has folks hopping mad.

@arstechnica The intended meaning of the ad is crystal clear and unambiguous, although I’ll grant that it’s a dumb way of going about it. It’s not clever, and it’s about three times longer than it needs to be to make the point.

Getting upset over this ad is stunningly obtuse, so willfully petulant about your own ideas. There are so many more important things going on today - and people are whining about this?

“AM radio is a lifeline,” lawmakers say; tech and auto industries disagree

A recent test of the emergency alert system found only 1 percent got it via AM.

@arstechnica Any sufficiently emergent situation requiring the use of AM radio would be so catastrophic that cars wouldn't be usable.

If AM radio is that valuable, then let’s also make sure that every household in the country gets a free battery-powered AM radio and a lifetime supply of batteries. Rechargeable doesn’t count - this is for catastrophic stuff. Power is t available.

Or maybe it’s just grandstanding.

I don't know who needs to hear this (that's a lie: ~80% of drivers) but when you're in a turn lane or an exit only lane, you should still signal to confirm to those around you that you are aware of the lane you're in and where it's about to go.

bubbajet ,
@bubbajet@mastodon.world avatar

@TechConnectify @caseyliss I’d be in favor of mandatory road and written tests every 3-5 years - just like when you got your license - to continue to have a license.

You’re controlling a multi-thousand pound weapon. You should know how to do so safely. *and stop being “polite” and letting someone go when it’s not their turn. Don’t be polite - be consistent with the law.
