@cr1901 @tubetime we're slowly getting back there. I looked inside an SSD yesterday and it turns out it has four cores, the same number as the main CPU in that system

@foone @cr1901 @tubetime The best trick that enabled was being able to load the disk copying software onto the drives, disconnect them from the computer then just have them do their thing when you popped your warez floppy in one and a blank in the other all afternoon 😆

I used to work in AWS hardware, and we crossed that line a decade ago, more or less. Between the SSD controllers, the BMC, and the secret sauce network controllers, we had more ARM cores in the background than x86 cores in the front.
